elixir quality control

The control over the quality of the elixir resin is ensured via rigorous testing and analysis.

elixir PET resin is tested both during manufacture and by secondary post production testing and evaluation at a specialised laboratory.

The elixir laboratory is a certified and registered ISO 9001 facility specialising in PET characterisation.

There are many specific tests which are undertaken to assess the quality of the product. Below we have listed a few of these and the accompanying schematic gives a visual interpretation of the procedure

testing methods

intinsic viscosity: the IV value is crucial in determining the mechanical properties of the final pre-form or bottle.

melting point determination : accurate thermal analysis allows us an insight into the purity and construction of the PET.

acetaldehyde (AA) analysis - controlling this harmless organic compound is vital in determining the taste of the packaged beverage.
